Realizing LOVE
Summer’s gone
The heat’s blasting
The morning’s dim
I wake up thinking
This is mean.
I slip from warm cocoon of down
Feeling chill on flannel-covered arms
Who loves you?
A voice calls.
Hmm… I have heat. I have shelter. I have safety.
I am Sue, the beloved of Justin, Jien-Shie, Roger, Noah, Jonah, Barbara, Jessica, Cheryl, Amy, Christine, Tinling, Bonnie, Cathy, Angela, Alex, Kristin, Nancys, Judi, Melissa, George, Geoffrey, David, Bert, Beverly, Irma, Liz, Ellen, Joni, Denise…
The list goes on and grows as I type (!). I love them all too.
Plus, I love the sun, moon, air, trees, ocean, the Big Sky, the Divine. I love that I get to wake up and have another go at making lives better.
I even love the guy who debates a friend and me to all of our exhaustion on Facebook. A guy who struggles with the other side while I struggle with his one-sidedness. Because he is willing to struggle.
So, fill in the blanks. See if it warms you up. It did for me.

Sue, what a lovely post of reminders of how love permeates us all. And that photo of that little boy is Love Itself!
Thank you, Gail! It was definitely an intuitive moment in the midst of discomfort. I have it GREAT. I do miss the cheeks on that boy.
Beautiful, innocent, trusting, unconditional LOVE!
Those words just warm me right up. Thank you.
I too easily see the negative in things and don’t often see the love unless it is hitting me in the head. I like your refreshing viewpoint. It is a great way to be consciously grateful for who loves us and who/what we love.
Thanks, Nancy. Being loved and love. We are lucky.
